Job Description

Defined Benefits Specialist

Duties/Responsibilities

1.Utilize databases, data collection systems, data analytics, account management systems and other strategies that optimize pension processing efficiency

2.Acquire data from primary/secondary data sources, maintain databases/data systems and account management systems

3.Review retirement documentation to finalize participants’ retirement benefits in the account management system

4.Explain retirement benefit plans options, policies, procedures, and legal requirements to participants/beneficiaries

5.Accurately performs complex and non-complex pension projections and final retirement calculations of accrued benefits

6.Perform complex & non-complex research and data analysis, and provide resolution to inquiries from participants, client and/or third parties

7.Acquire and relay relevant information and documentation to plan participants/beneficiaries

8.Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory changes, trends, and other developments which affect retirement benefits/Plan requirements/SPDs

9.Confers with leadership and team members to resolve uncommon issues

10.Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge

•Defined Benefits (DB)/Retirement Plans, Client Services

Education/Experience

Required: High School Diploma

4-6 years’ experience with retirement, financial planning or actuarial services required

Or,

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field

At least two years’ of experience with retirement, financial planning or actuarial services required
