JOB SUMMARY: IT Command Center Monitor (Entry level)

Conduent Business Services is seeking several talented IT Command Center Monitors who’ll be is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving problems associated with IT services within the 24/7x365 IT Command Center. Some responsibilities include fielding trouble notifications, providing proper documentation of these activities, escalating problems in accordance with policy, analyzing and reporting performance data, and incident/problem troubleshooting and resolution.

This successful incumbent will be located at our new 24/7x365 state-of-the-art IT Command Center located in Sandy, Utah and will report directly to the Sr. Supervisor of the IT Command Center.

Work schedule: Rotating work-days during your assigned shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.)

Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The IT Command Center Monitors will responsible for troubleshooting and developing technical solutions to restore software application and infrastructure failures
  • Ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion
  • Escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources
  • Conduct ongoing, real time monitoring and detection of incidents using state of the art monitoring technologies
  • Prevention of system incidents via the execution of pre-defined inspection scripts to interrogate the health of server operating system, database performance, and evaluation against standard performance levels
  • Verification and logging of batch job execution against defined service levels and the resolution of job failures
  • Gathering of data to support incident classification and performing the necessary analysis to correctly ascertain client impact
  • Execution of defined troubleshooting techniques to analyze system incident symptoms and define the resulting client/associate impact
  • Resolution of system incidents via the selection and execution of appropriate incident solutions and communication
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly compliance checks.
  • Perform proactive monitoring and fault resolution on all IT environments using enterprise monitoring tools Solarwinds and AppDynamics.
  • Regularly backup, patch and test network, server and storage devices as required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Technical/computer related AAS and above desired, but not required.
  • A+ and/or ITIL methodology certification preferred, not not absolutely required
  • At least one (1+) years of related work experience is highly desired
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements indicated
  • Training and/or experience associated with the administration and engineering of technical infrastructure including Unix, Windows, Network Storage, middleware, or database
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of server and printing technologies.
  • Working knowledge of VMWare.
  • Working knowledge of AppDynamics.
  • Proficiency with SolarWinds.
  • Proficiency with ITIL methodology.
  • Strong people skills and passion for problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with peers, management, contractors and vendors.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure while troubleshooting and solving technical issues.
  • Aptitude for acquiring skills in technical support and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple incidents requests simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on department and production objectives.
  • Ability to work successfully with limited supervision.
  • Must be currently eligible to work for any employer in the United States
  • Must consent to, and successfully clear all required pre-employment screenings (i.e., background and substance abuse)
